Recovery Worker (FTC) - ROAR

Fixed Term Contract - Up to 12 Months

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with substance misuse issues. As a Recovery Worker within Rochdale & Oldham Active Recovery (ROAR) you’ll make a real difference as you empower and enable people to change. Passionate about people, you’ll enjoy support to enhance your own life too, as you make the role your own in a friendly and multidisciplinary team.

Role Responsibility

We have a range of roles in Oldham and or Rochdale providing assessments, treatment, psycho social interventions and care to drug and alcohol users. These including roles in our locality teams and supporting pathways from criminal justice services, younger adults and homeless populations. You will join a multi disciplinary team of nurses, clinicians, recovery workers and peer mentors and be required to work alongside a range of partners in criminal justice, health and social care.

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll have an understanding of substance and alcohol misuse and the challenges and opportunities for individuals on a recovery journey. The roles are varied , so flexibility, an ability to work dynamically on a one to one and group basis and knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery will be vital. We also look for candidates with excellent communication skills who share our values as an organisation.

Your ideas will be listened to and your suggestions implemented wherever possible. You will be supported in your role by extensive training to help develop your skills.
