National Marketing Manager
Job Introduction
A new opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Manager to plan, implement, and optimise meaningful marketing activity for Turning Point at a national and local level across England.
Turning Point is a leading health and social care social enterprise that provides support for people around drug and alcohol use, mental health, learning disability and autism, sexual health, and employment.
We support 197,000 people each year, across 271 locations, and employ over 5,100 colleagues.
If you’re excited by working in a creative and agile environment to develop campaigns and implement projects that help people to access the support, they need then we’d love to hear from you!
This is a hybrid role with a combination of home working as well as some time in the office – usually one or two days a week.
Role Responsibility
As the National Marketing Manager, you’re responsible for supporting Turning Point services to reach their target audiences in a consistent, engaging, and effective way.
You’ll build relationships across the organisation to understand challenges and work quickly to provide advice, create communications, and recommend marketing activities using online and offline channels.
That means doing some things at scale across the organisation, as well as in a hyper local way that meets the specific needs of one service or group of people.
Some of your regular activities will include;
- Creating bespoke local marketing plans for strategically focused Turning Point services, with very modest budgets, working with the local team to deliver
- Shaping engaging and integrated health and wellbeing campaigns to get the best return for Turning Point at a national and local level, making the most of our finite resources
- Working on long term projects that improve the experience of the people we support, collaborating with a range of contributors from across the organisation
- Designing and maintaining our Turning Point templates and assets, supporting local services to create targeted, on brand communications for their different audiences
- Taking a hands-on approach to writing a breadth of content and creating communications using a mix of Canva and agency support for larger briefs
- Owning much of the Turning Point website content, working with a wide range of stakeholders to make sure that it reflects and helps as many people as possible access our local services
- Understanding our range of audiences and their experience with Turning Point, helping to identify areas of communications improvement or opportunity at local sites
- Finding ways to make our communications more accessible and easier to understand for a wide range of audiences
- Overseeing all central Turning Point marketing content using our content management system, including imagery, copy, testimonials, and consent
- Line managing one Marketing Executive
The Ideal Candidate
This area of Turning Point is dynamic and always adapting to the needs of our audiences.
To be considered for the role you will need to have previous experience of Marketing planning and campaign delivery, both on and offline.
You’re a positive, organised, and motivated individual whose focus on the customer need delivers great work that drives results.
You would describe yourself as a good all-rounder – from developing annual plans, to producing creative and writing copy – so you’re adept at prioritising and managing expectations.
We’re also looking for some of the following;
- Experience in identifying target audiences and devising effective campaigns
- Some paid media experience, both on and offline
- Fantastic communication skills that you use to engage people of all levels and experiences
- A strong all-rounder – you have a great understanding and application of the marketing mix
- Good analytical skills – you comfortable interpreting data and making recommendations based on insight
- Basic understanding of website design, so you’re comfortable working with our tech team
- Ability to manage project priorities and experienced at influencing internal stakeholders
- You want to continually learn and develop your marketing skill set
- You have hands-on experience of creating content, writing copy and using Canva
- Experience within the healthcare sector is also highly desirable.
- Are empathetic, kind, and want to work in a collaborative and resourceful team
