Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

Fixed Term Contract – Up to 12 Months + Possible Extension

At Turning Point, we are recognised leaders in helping people recover from addiction and gain control of their lives. By providing the right support at the right time, and making sure that people can find all the help they need, we have grown into one of the largest providers of substance misuse services in England and Wales. Right now, we are now looking for talented individuals to work within our community-based substance misuse services in the City of London and Hackney in a variety of different Trauma Aware Pathway Navigator vacancies.

The service is delivered in partnership with Mind CHWF and London Friend and there is a focus on partnership working throughout the service to support those in the local community who need assistance to achieve their goals. We deliver treatment and support across the neighbourhoods ensuring a holistic and inclusive approach to recovery in this service.

Passionate about people, you’ll enjoy the opportunity and support to enhance your own life and career too, as you gain the experience and training you need to progress in your career within a social enterprise. So if you’re ambitious and ready for a fresh challenge with a sector leader then this could be the opportunity for you.

Role Responsibility

To be part of a new team focused on enhancing access to support and recovery services for the rough sleeping community in the City and Hackney area. As part of new Public Health funded project, the new service has been designed around the Neighbourhoods Model with regular localised multidisciplinary team (MDTs) meetings. You will ensure the service practice is holistic and person centred, and is a tailored and co-produced treatment package, focusing solely on the rough sleeper’s goals. You will work to mitigate any physical or psychosocial barriers relating to service delivery being mostly building based and help create a long lasting systemic change in service delivery to the rough sleeper population.

The aims of this project is to establish longer term systemic change in the support offered to the community and as part of the team, you will explore how multi-agency working can provide better opportunities, access to support and pathways into housing support, primary care, substance misuse services, and more.

As part of a new team we’re recruiting for two different Trauma Aware Pathway Navigator vacancies:

  • Trauma Aware Pathway Navigator
  • Trauma Aware Pathway Navigator (Women Specialist)

The Ideal Candidate

You'll need a good working knowledge of issues related to substance misuse, as well as a genuine passion for the field. Although previous relevant experience, on either a voluntary basis or as a paid employee is preferable, most important is that you're flexible, patient and able to view situations from service users perspectives. As you'd expect, good moral values will be key. Situations can sometimes be difficult and challenging, so you'll need to be non-judgemental, with a sensitive approach and a good understanding of how to meet needs related to substance misuse.

For the Trauma Aware Pathway Navigator (Women Specialist) position, knowledge and experience of working with women who suffered major trauma is an essential requirement.
