Service Manager

Job Introduction

This innovative, and integrated service welcomes experienced and enthusiastic applicants to apply for this rare opportunity to manage a specialist community based service that supports individuals with complex emotional needs across Nottingham city and Nottinghamshire county.

The service sits as part of an integrated stepped care model for people with complex emotional needs and supports those with a diagnosis of personality disorder. The service sits as a standalone early intervention for some individuals, preventing the need for ongoing support from secondary mental health services. For other, the service acts as a stepping stone for longer term treatment and support.

The service delivers a core programme of group based interventions such as workshops and peer support groups. The programme incorporates elements of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness skills and psycho-education, through a blended model of face-to-face session, online workshops with an element of 1-1 support.

You will lead a team consisting of assistant psychologists and peer support workers who will be delivering the interventions and managing caseloads. You will be working alongside the services dedicated clinical psychologist to deliver a high quality, safe and effective service, ensuring the service meets specified targets relating to the client journey and experience. You will be working with external stakeholders to ensure that appropriate community integration is achieved and a successful journey for the people we support through their programme.

Role Responsibility

  • Leading the Complex Emotional Needs service, working alongside the Clinical Psychologist to ensure that the service provides effective evidence-based interventions in line with contractual requirements.
  • Be accountable for service development, delivery and evaluation to achieve key performance indicators relating to the client journey and experience, embedding a high quality performance culture within the service.
  • To be responsible for all operational management aspects of the service, including insight of systems and processes, people management, financial management and compliance.
  • To work collaboratively with all individuals we support, staff and key stakeholders to ensure that the service has a strong recovery focused ethos
  • To ensure that the service meets statutory requirements including property and health and safety standards are maintained and risk levels are managed on a day to day basis

You will be required to work 37 hours per week and participate in an on call rota.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a robust and resilient Service Manager with at least 5 years experience working in the sector, with at least 3 years experience within a management role, who is able to respond to changing, high pressure environments.

It is essential that you possess excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to deliver exceptional service outcomes to a range of stakeholders, with experience of monitoring performance, service activity and outcome measures and using this to inform service delivery.

We are looking for excellent team management skills to lead and inspire a motivated and skilled team that consistently delivers or exceeds on it’s targets, and someone who demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with both clinical and operational team members.
