Job Introduction
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Turning Point’s Leicester City Substance Use Service as a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker. This role will involve the successful candidate supporting service users who have been involved with the Criminal Justice System and are in the community addressing their substance use issues following either a release from custody or on community orders. You will support the service users to work towards their goals as well as liaising with key partnership agencies.
Starting salary £24,150 with annual pay progression up to £28,252 (Dependent on experience you may be offered a salary above the initial starting salary)

Role Responsibility
As a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker, you will act as ‘key workers’ to a caseload of service users who have been involved with the Criminal Justice System. They may have been released from custody with Licence conditions or given a community order to address their substance use. You will be working in partnership with key multi agencies including the Probation Service, Police and Prison service. The role includes maintaining regular contact with your clients, offering advice, information and psycho-social interventions as well as providing assessments, risk management planning and working closely with our clinical staff around prescribing needs and other partner agencies. No day is the same in this role but an ability to communicate effectively with a range or service users and colleagues, an ability to manage different tasks and a commitment to Turning Point values are essential. You may have lived experience of substance misuse/mental health/homelessness (self or a significant other), come with experience supporting people in health and social care or just have a keen interest in supporting this group; if your values are right, we have a role for everyone

The successful candidate will be a highly effective communicator, efficient and organised and have a real passion for supporting service users to engage in treatment. You must be engaging, enthusiastic and passionate, have a keen interest in the Criminal Justice System and willingness to work with offenders to help turn their lives around is a must.
