Youth Practitioner - 12 Months FTC

Job Introduction

Fixed Term Contract - Up to 12 Months

This is a hybrid role.

Resilience is a young people’s substance use and sexual health service, offering support to young people 25 and under. Our work is rooted in compassion, innovation and empowering young people. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Youth Practitioner to join our dynamic team. This role combines one-to-one client support as well as completing outreach to engaging young people in both community and educational settings. You will provide tailored interventions to young people experiencing challenges related to substance use, sexual health and emotional wellbeing, while also delivering engaging outreach sessions to increase education and awareness of topics within those domains as well reduce harm and prompt informed choices

Role Responsibility

1:1 Client Support

· Carry a caseload of clients and provide direct one-to-one holistic, person-centred support directly to the young person.

· Conduct comprehensive assessments, risk assessment and care-planning

· Provide low-intensity interventions, harm reduction advice, and psychoeducation to promote positive outcomes

· Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records

· Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure coordinated care

Outreach & Engagement

· Deliver engage and innovate outreach sessions in schools, colleges, and community settings

· Design and facilitate workshops both in person and virtual on a range topics within sexual health and substance use. Such as consent, relationships, boundaries, harm reduction etc.

· Delivering professional trainings to those who support young people around their sexual health or substance use.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about supporting young sexual health and substance use as well as committed to safeguarding, equality and anti-discriminatory practice. The role requires skill in building rapport and engaging young people from diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of substances and sexual health needs. As well, as be confident in delivering outreach and facilitating works both to professionals and young people. You’ll need to be computer literate, have the skills to multi-task, able to manage your own time and be able to bring a naturally positive disposition to our team. We encourage applicants who’ve had experience of working with young people in various settings to apply for the role.
