Volunteer Recovery Worker
Job Introduction
Turning Point is looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Volunteer Recovery Workers at our Mental Health Cafés in Leicestershire. This role is pivotal in providing support to individuals struggling with their mental health on a drop-in basis. If you are passionate about mental health and enjoy engaging with people in a social setting, this opportunity is perfect for you.
It’s a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in the mental health field and make a positive impact in the community.
Full training will be provided.

Role Responsibility
- Engage with visitors in the social space, playing board games and doing craft activities.
- Prepare and serve drinks such as tea and coffee.
- Discuss and share coping skills for managing mental health.
- Provide a welcoming and supportive environment for all visitors.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working in mental health is desired but not essential.
- A compassionate and empathetic nature.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to undergo full training provided by Turning Point.
