You will be offered the scope and support to enhance your own career as you gain the experience and training you need to develop as a Recovery Worker.

During the first 6 months you will be offered a range of blended learning to understand your role, responsibilities and the sector you are working in. There will be further development opportunities available which may include qualifications or internal accredited learning.

The starting salary for this position is £22,284 (Rising up to £24,150 after 6 month probation) with future scope thereafter.

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll need a good understanding of issues related to substance use, as well as a genuine passion for the field. Although previous relevant experience, on either a voluntary basis or as a paid employee is preferable, most important is that you’re flexible, willing to learn, patient and able to view situations from a service user’s perspective. As you’d expect, good moral values will be key. Situations can sometimes be difficult and challenging, so you’ll need to be non-judgemental, with a sensitive approach and a good understanding of how to meet complex needs related to substance use.

At a practical level, you’ll need good IT and communication skills.
