Trainee Recovery Worker – City & Hackney

Job Introduction

At Turning Point we provide services across the whole country which delivers end to end drug and alcohol treatment and support, family services, housing advice and support for those in contact with the criminal justice system, needle exchange system, and custody outreach. We are a specialist in delivering whole treatment system approaches across cities and county areas, which has led to the reduction in people falling through gaps between services and delivers improved outcomes.

During the first 6 months you will be offered a range of blended learning to understand your role, responsibilities and the sector you are working in. There will be further development opportunities available which may include qualifications or internal accredited learning.

Role Responsibility

As a Trainee Recovery worker you will work in a variety of settings and you will learn how to manage a caseload of clients, undertake assessments, develop person centred recovery plans and support individuals to turn their lives around. You'll form part of a friendly multi-disciplinary team and work with other agencies and build relationships with families and professionals to make sure each person gets the right care for their needs.

This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to peoples’ lives as you support individuals on their recovery journey.

In City and Hackney we are recruiting for an enthusiastic trainee to specialise in supporting prison leavers including prison visits, release planning and community integration. We are also looking for a trainee based in community criminal justice agency location such as police custody, IOM unit and probation.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking to recruit candidates with a can do attitude and those are who committed to inspiring the possibility of recovery in others. With the training on offer, experience in the sector is an advantage but not essential and its more important to us to have a willingness to learn and develop your skills along with a passion for working with our clients.
