Team Leader - Refocus Day Centre- Salisbury

Where will I be working?

Our Refocus Day Centre in Salisbury provides support for adults with Learning Disabilities and complex needs. We tailor our services to enable people to be as independent as possible.

Shift Patterns

The core hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (start and finish times may vary slightly).

Role Responsibility

What will I be doing? 

You will develop flexible and realistic support plans and risk assessments with the individuals you support and in collaboration with other professionals, ensuring that the support plans reflect each person's needs goals and aspirations. Part of the role will include managing staff rotas, reviewing support plans and risk assessments, chairing review meetings, completing Mental Capacity Assessments, holding Best Interest meetings and completing DoLS applications. You will also be required to manage and administer medications for service users. 

The Ideal Candidate

What skills and qualities do I need to have?

We are looking for Team Leaders who can quickly adapt within busy and changeable environments. Not only will you need the ability to lead a team of Support Workers on a shift, allocate work and delegate tasks. You will be expected to directly line manage a group of support staff, this will include managing sickness, supervisions and appraisals, managing performance issues and coaching. We expect our Team Leaders to bring the strong communication skills needed to tailor their message to a variety of audiences. We also require you to have the skills to communicate via email and produce documents in Word.

You should be a team player with some experience gained in the care sector. It is essential that you have some knowledge of issues related to learning disabilities and strongly preferable that you have experience working with people who present with challenging behaviors and have complex needs.

We can offer you a varied and interesting training and development package to develop you as a line manager and support you in the role.

It is essential that you are physically able to assist in manual handling and supporting individuals with mobility needs and also have the ability to provide PBS (Positive behavioral support) breakaway techniques.
