Our established Social Work Team works across children and adults social care in Central London with specialist supervision and support from our Lead Social Worker to provide recovery services to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. In terms of this role we will discuss with the successful candidate the balance of adult/ children’s social work focus that is most mutually beneficial.
As a Social Worker we offer a starting salary of £34,335 + £3,633 IWL rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to £40,167 + £3,633 ILW per year. (Dependent on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial starting salary).

Role Responsibility
Duties will include:
- Holding a caseload of complex clients working with them and their families to help them achieve their recovery goals.
- Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead within your part of the service under the supervision of the service safeguarding lead
- Leading on the development of our pathways with adult and children’s social care to ensure that our statutory partners have access to specialist recovery consultation and support.
- Taking on a leadership role in the day to day running of the service
We will accept applications from social workers of varying experience and will support and will provide training to fully perform the wider functions of the role. Knowledge of drug and alcohol recovery is an advantage but not required- you can learn that here- rather we are looking for a candidate with a deep understanding of safeguarding, complexity and a commitment to person centred practice.
You will work in a multidisciplinary team alongside doctors, nurses, psychologists, allied health care professionals, recovery workers and peer mentors.
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll have an understanding of safeguarding and complexity and the challenges and opportunities for individuals in need. We recognise that many social workers have transferrable skills from other social work sectors and will support you to gain expertise in recovery work. The social worker role at Turning Point is varied, so flexibility and an ability to work dynamically on a one to one and group basis will be vital but we can help to shape these skills where needed. We also look for candidates with excellent communication skills with both service users and also with staff and who share our values as an organisation. We especially value individuals with lived experience.

Your ideas will be listened to and your suggestions implemented wherever possible. You will be supported in your role by extensive training to help develop your skills.
