Senior Recovery Worker - Suffolk Recovery Network (Bury St Edmunds)

Role Responsibility

As a Senior Recovery Worker you will work within a supportive multi-disciplinary team with Doctors, Nurses, Psychologists, Recovery Workers, Support Workers, Administrators and Peer Mentors working to improve the well-being of a wide range of service users. 

The post holder will be involved in supporting team members to carry out their roles and to assist with the running of the service.  You will provide support to the Hub Manager, lead by example and provide guidance and line management support to team members whilst supporting them with front line work. The post holder will be based in the Lowestoft hub.

The post holder will be required to: 

  • Provide regular supervisions and annual ongoing performance reviews (OPR) with direct reports
  • Ensure team members are confident and competent in completing comprehensive substance misuse assessments, including urine drug screens and dry blood spot testing
  • Ensure team members are confident and competent in delivering psychosocial interventions face to face in one to one and group settings as well as and using digital options
  • Support team members with their case management
  • Support team members to work with clients to support them with residential rehabilitation applications.
  • Work with the clinical team to jointly deliver client treatment
  • Ensure team members are confident and competent in delivering harm reduction and needle exchange services
  • Report critical incidents using DATIX
  • Attend internal and external meetings

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who have transferable skills and have experience of working within the health and social care sector.  In your CV / application form please tell us about the experience you have which meets the below criteria:

  • Line management experience
  • Experience within a Health and social care setting 
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills 
  • Collaborative team working skills 
  • Time management skills 
  • Ability to deliver against agreed goals and targets 
  • Working with and safeguarding vulnerable and complex people 
  • Management of incidents
