The working hours are 37 per week and some late night and weekend will be required

Role Responsibility

As the senior recovery worker for the Locality Team you will lead and manage a team of recovery workers to engage and motivate service users coming into the service and throughout their treatment journey. Putting service users at the heart of what you do you will ensure a high quality and timely service delivery. The Locality Team provides a vital element of the Rochdale service ensuring a dynamic and responsive approach, guaranteeing service users receive appropriate and timely support from point of assessment into structured treatment and beyond.

As a Senior Recovery Worker within the Rochdale and Oldham service you will lead by example and provide guidance and line management support to team members whilst supporting them with front line work. You will provide support to the Locality Managers to ensure service delivery targets are met. Significant substance misuse experience essential for this role as well as experience of providing line management and 121 support.

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally, as an experienced Senior Recovery Worker used to working in a busy environment, you’ll have a deep understanding of substance misuse and the Recovery Agenda. It’s an extremely varied role, so flexibility, an ability to work dynamically on a one to one and group basis and knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery will be vital. Naturally, we also look for Senior Recovery Workers with excellent communication skills and, ideally, a vocational qualification, such as an NVQ 3 or equivalent. You will be experienced in assessment, harm reduction interventions, prescription management and identifying and managing risk.
