Senior Nurse - RMN
Job Introduction
Pendlebury House is part of Turning Point, a leading health and social care organisation and registered charity. We are a small, community‑based independent hospital supporting up to 10 mixed‑gender patients with severe and enduring mental health needs, including both informal and detained individuals under the Mental Health Act.
Our work is grounded in humanity and hope. We believe recovery is built through partnership — walking alongside people, recognising their strengths, and supporting them to reclaim independence, identity, and purpose. Every interaction is an opportunity to empower, to build trust, and to help someone move closer to the life they want to live.
We are now looking for a values‑led, compassionate, and experienced Senior Nurse to join our team. You’ll be part of a supportive MDT including nurses, support staff, an Occupational Therapist, and an OT aide — all committed to creating a safe, respectful, and recovery‑focused environment.
Role Responsibility
As a Senior Nurse, you will be a key contributor to the culture and quality of our service.
Champion Recovery & Person‑Centred Care
• Build meaningful therapeutic relationships rooted in dignity, respect, and collaboration.
• Lead on evidence‑based interventions and ensure practice aligns with NICE guidance.
• Develop care plans and risk management strategies that reflect each person’s goals, strengths, and aspirations.
• Support individuals through their recovery journey, with a strong focus on safe and effective discharge planning.
Lead with Compassion & Integrity
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership, guiding and mentoring staff to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care.
• Promote a culture of openness, learning, and reflective practice.
• Contribute to clinical governance, ensuring our service remains safe, accountable, and continuously improving.
• Participate in audits, MDT reviews, and service‑user involvement initiatives.
Be a Trusted Clinical Voice
• Liaise closely with CMHT colleagues and external partners to ensure continuity of care.
• Deputise for the Clinical Lead when required and participate in the on‑call rota (telephone advice only).
• Help shape the ongoing development of our service, bringing ideas, curiosity, and professional insight.
The Ideal Candidate
You are someone who leads with heart as well as skill.
You bring:
• Experience supporting people with severe and enduring mental health needs, including dual diagnosis.
• A strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and its application in practice.
• Excellent communication, time‑management, and organisational skills.
• Confidence with IT systems and a commitment to accurate, meaningful documentation.
• A desire to model best practice, nurture others, and contribute to a positive team culture.
You will receive regular supervision from the Clinical Lead, take part in clinical supervision, and provide supervision and appraisal to a small number of staff.
This is a 37‑hour per week role, including rotational shift work and night duties.
