Senior Assistant Psychologist - LLR

Job Introduction

Fixed Term Contract – Up to 8 Months + Possible Extension 

Turning Point Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland is the integrated substance misuse service for Leicester city, Leicestershire and Rutland counties. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated senior Assistant Psychologist to support the development and delivery of interventions for clients experiencing co-existing mental health and substance misuse difficulties.

Role Responsibility

The role of the Senior Assistant Psychologist is to support the assessment and delivery of interventions to service users with co-existing mental health and substance misuse needs under supervision of the Psychologist. The post holder will assist in clinically related administration, administer questionnaires or standardised psychometric tests, conduct audits, collect data and statistics, and contribute to research projects and training.

The Ideal Candidate

You will need at least a 2:1 degree in psychology and eligibility for graduate membership with the British Psychological Society. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health and substance misuse difficulties, and have experience of delivering psychosocial interventions (individually or in groups). You will have previous experience of working in a health or social care setting and be able to manage databases for service evaluations.
