Safeguarding Manager - City & Hackney

Right now, we are now looking for a talented Safeguarding Manager to work within our community-based substance misuse services in the City of London and Hackney. 

The service is delivered in partnership with Mind CHWF and London Friend and there is a focus on partnership working throughout the service to support those in the local community who need assistance to achieve their goals. We deliver treatment and support across the neighbourhoods ensuring a holistic and inclusive approach to recovery in this service.

Role Responsibility

To assist in delivering TP’s Substance Misuse strategy within an integrated service which reflects our person centred values and the high levels of ambition we have both for the recovery of the individuals for whom we provide support and the development of our own staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inducting new staff regarding all areas of Safeguarding competence and practice
  • Running regular face-to-face Safeguarding Level 2 Training within the service
  • Chairing Safeguarding Meetings
  • Management & review of the service safeguarding log using a Multidisciplinary Team approach
  • Oversight and management of the service Safeguarding Audits and Safeguarding specific action-plan
  • Using Turning Point’s service user database to monitor and track Safeguarding activity and cases in the service
  • Reporting and presenting monthly on Safeguarding data and governance to the Leadership Team and wider service
  • Strategic oversight of Safeguarding Pathways including agreeing information sharing protocols and developing process diagrams
  • Overseeing all formal referrals in the service to CSC, ASC and MARAC
  • Reporting to the CQC on formal Safeguarding referrals the service makes
  • Liaising with WSCB, SLSCB and Adult Safeguarding Boards
  • Co-locating at specific times of the week with City & Hackney MASH Team
  • Delivering Safeguarding coaching and training for all staff
  • Liaison with maternity services to provide pre-birth plans in line with our pre-birth protocol
  • Monthly reviews of clients open to DA service, the PAUSE service and our service.
  • Working closely with the Turning Point Risk & Assurance Team, HR and Learning and Development departments to ensure safeguarding issues are managed appropriately within services and staff members are competent and confident to follow policies and procedures in relation to safeguarding.
  • Facilitating occasional best practice developments forums, ensuring that learning is shared.
  • Ensure that safeguarding processes are implemented and used in accordance with stated policies, procedures and regulations so that the service achieves its compliance obligations

The Ideal Candidate

An inspiring role model, we'll expect you to already have experience of Safeguarding within a drug and alcohol setting. Building relationships with colleagues, commissioners and service users alike will be a big part of what you do, we’re also looking for a Safeguarding Manager who can confidently engage and influence people.
