Rough Sleepers Team Leader - City & Hackney

As a Team Leader you will assist in delivering Turning Point’s Substance Use strategy within a Multi-disciplinary service which reflects our person centred values and the high levels of ambition we have both for the recovery of the individuals for whom we provide support and the development of our own staff.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the management team at Hackney and City, supporting the Rough Sleepers. The post requires someone who is proactive and driven and is able to review and develop the team together with the Rough Sleepers Strategic Manager on an ongoing basis together.
The Team leader will support and manage a diverse team, who will be supporting service users with multiple and complex needs to reduce rough sleeping, to engage in mental Health Services, this may include the team working with Service Users with dual diagnosis, physical co-morbidities and or / or serious safeguarding concerns who will require intensive support. There will be a level of flexible working which may include some evenings, nights and weekends/bank holidays. You will support and accompany workers on shift to provide them with guidance and support.
The starting salary will be £34,335 rising to £40,167, the role will be entitled to an additional fee of £3,633 for inner London weighting.

Role Responsibility
- Providing visible leadership to my teams/hub providing a positive, supportive environment for my teams to thrive.
- Management of a number of direct reports including Advanced Practitioners and recovery workers;
- Management of all HR related processes in line with HR policies.
- Ensuring expenses incurred within teams are in line with organisational policy;
- Ensuring adherence to petty cash processes.
- Ensuring high quality performance of staff within teams and achievement of key performance indicators.
- Day-to-day operational oversight of a larger geographical area/hub or group of teams;
- Ensuring my team delivers interventions/services in line with commissioner expectations, meeting needs of People we Support;
- Management of incidents that occur in my team/hub escalated by Team Leaders and ensuring learning is shared;
- Ensuring all steps are taken to ensure the health and safety of staff within my team/hub and People we Support;
- Ensuring the delivery of a high quality, evidence based service within my team/hub including undertaking and overseeing quality assurance and audit activity;
- Oversight of safeguarding activity to ensure people we support and children/vulnerable adults are safeguarded;
- Developing effective partnerships across Turning Point and with key local organisations to enhance service delivery;
- Representing Turning Point at internal and external meetings.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
- Demonstratable leadership skills and flexible and adaptable leadership style.
- In depth understanding and ability to operationally and performance manage the functions of the team I lead.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written). Ability to adapt to respond to staff, commissioners/partners and people we support.
- Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and resilient in high pressure environments.
- Have an excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues, and have experience of working within housing or homelessness services and understanding of the principles of assertive street outreach practice.
Desirable:
- Previous experience managing similar service/team
- Management qualification or equivalent
