Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

Fixed Term Contract - Up to 12 Months

Ipswich and East Suffolk have been awarded some funding to develop a far-reaching initiative. Turning Point Suffolk is working in conjunction with Public Health Suffolk and Suffolk County Council Children & Young People’s Services (CYP) to recruit a Recovery Worker (Substance Misuse and Family). You will be instrumental in reducing the familial impact of alcohol dependence by identifying alcohol-dependent parents, encouraging them into alcohol treatment and helping their children to access targeted support.

If successful, you will be based in Ipswich. You will be required to travel across Ipswich and East Suffolk.

Role Responsibility

You will have experience in substance misuse and child and family services. You will use a multi-agency approach and work with existing services in Ipswich and East Suffolk to improve and develop care coordination, treatment pathways and enabling hard to reach families to access support and services.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful person will work closely with the Senior Family Coordinator, CYP and the operational group to deliver the project. The applicant must have excellent communication skills, experience in partnership working, as well as having the skills to work directly with families. Therefore, it is essential that the post holder can communicate at a number of levels; including with families and stakeholders. This post offers a rewarding opportunity for a service development that will make a real difference to families in Suffolk affected by alcohol dependence.
