Role Responsibility
As a Recovery Worker you will work within a supportive multi-disciplinary team with Doctors, Nurses, Clinical Psychologist, Support Workers and Peer Mentors working to improve the well-being of a wide range of service users.
The post holder will be involved in the delivery of psychosocial interventions including assessment, implementation, care planning and evaluation of patient care.
- To undertake comprehensive substance misuse assessments, including urine drug screens and dry blood spot testing
- Delivering psychosocial interventions in one to one and group settings
- Reviewing, with clients, their care plan reviews and risk assessments
- Ensuring appropriate entries are made on patients computerised medical records
- Referring and signposting clients to our appropriate partner agencies
- Working with clients to support them with residential rehabilitation applications.
- Working with the clinical team to jointly deliver client treatment
- Delivering harm reduction and needle exchange services
- Participating in the safe and secure storage of medicines in accordance with all medicines legislation and Turning Point policies
- Report critical incidents using DATIX
- The recovery workers in the criminal justice team will be required to work with clients in the courts
The Ideal Candidate
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels to engage, build relationships and influence colleagues and service users.
- Demonstrable evidence of having worked effectively within a multi-professional team in a health and social care setting.
- Plain English skills – both verbal and written to bring clarity and purpose.
- Ability to deliver against agreed objectives and targets.
- Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of mediums.
- Displays commitment to improving quality of service to Service Users.
- Working knowledge of confidentiality
- Understanding of local and national safeguarding procedures.
- Recognise barriers to understanding, particularly within patient groups.
