Recovery Worker - ROAR

As a Recovery Worker within Rochdale & Oldham Active Recovery (ROAR) you’ll make a real difference to their lives as you develop the personal, flexible and realistic support packages they need to help turn things around. Role Responsibility

Raising the bar for people-centred care, you’ll provide advice and information to service users. Of course, that means not only putting their wellbeing first, but providing an outstanding service for their families too. People’s lives will be truly changed by you. Based within the Locality Team, you will handle a significant mixed caseload in a busy environment. You will be expected to work from other locations as well as potentially running shared care clinics from GP surgeries. You will also carry out assessments and help cover the duty rota. There will be some evening and weekend work expected. Liaison with other services including probation, social care and other healthcare professionals is an essential part of this role. 

The Ideal Candidate

As a Locality Team Recovery Worker within the Rochdale & Oldham Active Recovery Service (ROAR), you will be based at the Rochdale hub. The Locality Team play a vital role in managing and motivating a complex caseload of service users ensuring they receive the correct support and treatment options from the moment they enter treatment and throughout their treatment journey. You’ll have a deep understanding of substance and alcohol misuse and the Recovery Agenda. It’s an extremely varied role, so flexibility, an ability to work dynamically on a one to one and group basis and knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery will be vital. Naturally, we also look for Recovery Workers with excellent communication skills and, ideally, a vocational qualification, such as an NVQ 3 or equivalent.

Your ideas will be listened to and your suggestions implemented wherever possible. You will be supported in your role by extensive training to help develop your skills.
