Recovery Worker - Croydon Recovery Network

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with substance misuse and alcohol issues and are looking for new Recovery Worker to join us at our Croydon Recovery Service.

Running health facilities and services on a not-for-profit basis, we invest every penny back into our care - and our people. So, if you're ambitious and focused on substance misuse, progress a Recovery Worker career with real value.

Role Responsibility

Working in a variety of settings, you’ll develop personal, flexible and realistic support packages based on people’s individual circumstances. In this busy role, no two days will be the same as you manage a large, interesting caseload without compromising on quality. This is a wide and varied role, which give you challenges and opportunities daily.

Working side-by-side with your own caseload of service users, you’ll coordinate individual treatment journeys and offer the people-centred care they come to us for. That means you’ll also build relationships with families and professionals to make sure each person gets the right care for their needs.

A can do attitude is essential, as is the flexibility to meet the demands of this provision, which will include late nights/early starts and weekend work.

Part of a friendly and multidisciplinary team you will also be expected to work with a wealth of partners to support service users to build their recovery.

The Ideal Candidate

Having handled a significant caseload in a busy environment as a Recovery Worker, you'll have a deep understanding of substance misuse and the Recovery Agenda. It's an extremely varied role, so a track record of successfully supporting people to complete treatment, knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery will be vital.

Excellent communication and IT skills are essential for this role and applicants with experience of delivering interventions for treatment of alcohol misuse will be viewed favourably.
