Receptionist - Manchester

Job Introduction

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Receptionist or Administrator to join us in our Manchester office to deliver professional reception services and host a hybrid working office environment. 

This is an office-based role requiring daily presence at our office in Manchester M1 4HN.

You will be working with Directors, Managers and colleagues who are passionate about what we do and who want to grow the business and provide excellent customer service. 

You should have excellent attention to detail, understand the impact of actions on others and be able to manage various concurrent work priorities. You will have previous experience in a role where you have provided key support to a team where there has been a strong focus on improving process and procedure to support the efficacy of BAU activity.

Following a successful probationary period, there may be opportunity to take on exciting new challenges and upskill to provide comprehensive, high level administrative support to our busy environmental management team, and other areas of the business dependant on need.

Role Responsibility

The responsibilities are wide-ranging and include:

  • Host the office space, providing a welcoming environment and positive experience for visitors and colleagues.
  • Provide an efficient, professional, and responsive in-person office reception service.
  • Provide an efficient, professional, and responsive switchboard service.
  • Smoothly operate and manage an office desk and meeting room booking system.
  • Effectively manage key administrative tasks and processes.
  • Organise in-house events.
  • Manage the office and building security card access system.
  • Deal with post, stationary, couriers and staff welfare.
  • Manage all office housekeeping including staff kitchens, Health & Safety, and facilities maintenance.
  • Liaise with building management, contractors and suppliers.
  • Act as Fire Warden and First Aider.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with previous receptionist, personal assistant or administrative support experience who enjoys helping and organising others.

The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable and demonstrate great audience led communication skills. You should be calm under pressure and able to manage various concurrent work priorities, finding effective solutions to issues as they arise.

You will act to mitigate the impact of issues across the wider office, and you will have previous experience in a role where you have provided key face to face support across multiple teams. You should have excellent attention to detail and be keen to focus on improving process and procedure.

You should be a confident communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills and a positive and enthusiastic approach. We are looking for someone who will develop the role, bringing their own ideas to the table and actively contribute to a positive step change in the hybrid working environment experience for others.

Someone with a positive and enthusiastic approach, capable of building and developing productive and cooperative working relationships and will thrive in this position.

You need to be proficient in MS Office suite, especially Teams, Word and MS Outlook.
