PSI and Peer Mentor Team Leader

Job Introduction

Are you passionate about helping people achieve positive change? Do you have experience delivering psycho-social interventions, developing others, and working alongside people with lived experience? If so, we would love to hear from you.

As our PSI & Peer Mentor Team Leader, you will lead the delivery of high-quality psycho-social interventions, peer mentoring and volunteer services within a trauma-informed, psychologically informed and recovery-focused framework. You will play a key role in ensuring people accessing our services receive effective support while creating development opportunities for peer mentors, volunteers and colleagues.  

Working collaboratively across teams and partner agencies, you will champion a culture of recovery, learning and inclusion, ensuring the people we support remain at the heart of everything we do.

Role Responsibility

The successful candidate will:

  • Be passionate about supporting people to achieve sustainable recovery and positive outcomes.  
  • Have experience delivering psycho-social interventions and supporting evidence-based groupwork programs.  
  • Demonstrate the ability to coach, mentor and develop staff, peer mentors and volunteers.  
  • Build strong relationships and work effectively with internal teams, partner organisations and stakeholders.  
  • Be committed to creating a psychologically informed, non-judgmental and inclusive environment.  
  • Possess the skills and confidence to deliver training, provide constructive feedback and drive service quality improvements.  
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, ensuring compliance, governance and accurate record keeping.  

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience delivering psycho-social interventions within a health, social care or substance use setting.  
  • Knowledge and understanding of substance use and recovery services.  
  • Experience working with people with lived experience, peer mentors and volunteers.  
  • Knowledge, skills and experience in coaching, mentoring and staff development.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • The ability to deliver training, supervision, observations and developmental feedback.  
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using organisational systems and records management processes.  
  • Experience of promoting collaborative working across teams and partner agencies.  
  • A commitment to professional standards, accountability, continuous improvement and values-led leadership.  

Desirable: A recognised training qualification.
