Marketing and Engagement Coordinator

Job Introduction

A new opportunity has arisen for a Marketing and Engagement Coordinator to implement and optimise meaningful marketing activity to encourage Leicestershire & Rutland residents to seek support and treatment for drug and alcohol use.

Turning Point is a leading health and social care social enterprise that provides support for drug and alcohol use, mental health, learning disability, sexual health, and employment needs.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating innovative, multi-channel marketing campaigns, as well as planning and delivering community engagement activity and local events that build awareness, reduce stigma, and help people access the support they need.

This is a hybrid working role - ideally 3 days per week on site and 2 days per week from home. The role will be primarily based at our Hinckley hub, with regular travel required to our other locations in Coalville, Loughborough and Oakham.

Role Responsibility

As the Marketing and Engagement Coordinator, you’re responsible for ensuring that Leicestershire and Rutland services are reaching their target audiences in a consistent, engaging, and effective way that increases numbers in treatment.

You’ll build relationships across the organisation to understand challenges and work quickly to provide advice, create communications, and recommend marketing activities using online and offline channels.

Some of your regular activities will include:

  • Support Turning Point’s joint work with local partners to help integrate services within the Local Integrated Care Network and wider community initiatives
  • Work alongside Partnership Managers to contribute to the development and delivery of the service’s marketing and promotion plans
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver an annual calendar of awareness events, ensuring activity aligns with best practice and local priorities
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community groups, including engagement with diverse and underrepresented communities
  • Support internal communications across Leicestershire and Rutland services, helping to ensure a consistent approach to health promotion
  • Assist in the development of written and digital marketing materials across a range of formats and channels
  • Work with partners and stakeholders to promote services and support efforts to increase engagement and referrals
  • Manage and update social media channels and online content, monitoring performance and suggesting improvements
  • Create and distribute regular service newsletters and communications
  • Represent Turning Point at community and professional events, as well as attending meetings and training where required
  • Support communication with Local Authorities and partners on joint initiatives, pathways and campaigns
  • Contribute to the consultation and co-production of communications with service users and staff

The Ideal Candidate

This area of Turning Point is fast paced and always changing to adapt to the needs of our audiences.

To be considered for the role you will need to have previous experience of Marketing planning and campaign delivery, both on and offline.

You’re a positive, organised, and tenacious individual whose focus on the customer need delivers great work that drives results.

You’d describe yourself as a good all-rounder – from developing annual plans, to producing creative and writing copy – always with an eye on performance.

We are looking to recruit a candidate who is personally and professionally committed to inspiring the possibility of recovery in others. We will provide a package of training and support; experience of working in health promotion or relevant services is an advantage but more important is a willingness to learn, a passion for helping people and a desire to bring your experience in marketing into the role.

We’re also looking for some of the following:

  • Experience in identifying target audiences and devising effective campaigns
  • Some paid media experience, both on and offline
  • Fantastic communication skills that you use to engage people of all levels and experiences
  • A strong all-rounder – you have a great understanding and application of the marketing mix
  • Good analytical skills – you comfortable interpreting data and making recommendations based on insight
  • Basic understanding of website development, so you’re comfortable working with our tech team
  • Ability to manage project priorities and experienced at influencing internal stakeholders
  • You want to continually learn and develop your marketing skill set
  • You have hands-on experience of creating content, writing copy and other creative skills
  • Experience within the healthcare sector is also highly desirable
  • Are empathetic, kind, and want to work in a small but energetic team!
