Marketing & Social Media Intern

Part-time 22.5 hours – Fixed Term (6 months)

Hours: Mon-Wed, 9am-5pm

Expenses Paid: This role is unpaid but includes expenses like travel/lunch into any TP site – Homebased

Start date: Monday 15th November

Turning Point is a leading Social Enterprise which supports people with a wide range of complex needs across Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Substance Misuse and Public Health. Right now, we are now looking for a part-time intern in our Marketing Department who wants to gain social enterprise hands on marketing experience for a 6-month period.

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join as an intern with a small, new and innovative Marketing team. You will be reporting into Social Media & Content Manager and work across the wider marketing team. The primary responsibilities of the role include:

  • Work alongside the wider external affairs, marketing and internal comms team.
  • Assist the Social Media & Content Manager across Turning Point brands to raise awareness of our brands and create enticing and engaging content
  • Assist in the monthly preparation of Turning Point social media coverage for monthly and bi-annual reports.
  • Assist with managing social media presence (via Hootsuite) on a variety of platforms and write brand responses for Turning Point (B2B2C), livelife (B2C) and Rightsteps (B2B)
  • Shape and craft company wide branded presentations and creatives for internal and external stakeholders

The Ideal Candidate

This area of the business is fast paced, varied, challenging and subject to continuous change and development. To be considered for the role you will need to be enthusiastic with a keen creative eye for detail and the ability to juggle tasks and work to deadlines. You will also need:

  • Canva and/or other platform design experience
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong editing and proof-reading skills.
  • A creative eye
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically advanced PowerPoint)
  • Compassionate and empathetic to the challenges facing many of the people we support.
  • Interested in learning about the health and social care sector.
  • Be able to work at pace and meet challenging deadlines with the ability to work independently and manage own workload.

Knowledge/experience of drug and alcohol problems, mental health problems and learning disability or autism would be an advantage. CRM experience and previous experience in design, marketing, journalism both B2B, B2C & B2B2C would be desirable but not essential.
