Locality Manager - Impact
Job Introduction
At Turning Point, we know that recovering from drug or alcohol misuse is an individual journey – one that often requires different resources and different interventions for different people. Our goal is to deliver coherent, accessible and person-centred services tailored to complex individual needs, from clinical treatment through to housing support, employment and integration back into the community via IMPACT Swindon and Wiltshire Active Recovery Service
Have you got what it takes to walk that journey with our service users? Then you could help shape the success of this exciting initiative by leading our Swindon team to ensure the delivery of high quality, innovative care to adults requiring support with drug and alcohol use.
Role Responsibility
As the Locality Manager of the busy Swindon hub, you will be responsible for delivering excellence in all aspects of service delivery. This will involve leading and coordinating senior recovery workers, recovery workers, support workers and administrators, a commitment to full implementation of volunteer and peer mentoring placements as well as meaningful service user involvement and support for concerned others.
Working closely with clinicians and line managers, you will contribute to the planning of care and actively respond to evolving local needs. We will also rely on you to build and maintain strong relationships with other local stakeholders. In addition, you will stay abreast of the latest developments in the substance misuse field and use your initiative to identify and explore new opportunities within our integrated service structure.
You will need experience of the substance misuse sector and in depth knowledge of the criminal justice system, as well as a proven ability to lead and develop a team.
The Ideal Candidate
To achieve these goals, and help us deliver and develop our wider substance misuse strategy, you will need a background in the substance misuse field and knowledge of the criminal justice system. This must include a good understanding of harm reduction and recovery development service models as well as proven ability to manage and develop a multi-disciplinary team. . Add to that your personal resilience, first-class communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills and you will quickly establish yourself as an important and effective member of our team. You must be IT literate with a good understanding of data reporting systems. You will also be comfortable managing a team and implementing organisation change as the service continues to adapt and grow. A full driving licence and use of a car would be an advantage. Working 37 hours per week, the nature of our service demands a degree of flexibility on working hours.
