Leicestershire Central & Peer Mentor Team Leader – Leicestershire & Rutland
Job Introduction
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Turning Point Leicestershire and Rutland Substance Use Service as Leicestershire Central and Peer Mentor Team Leader. You will lead and support a team of Recovery Workers and will be responsible for the performance and development of your team.
You will support the service in maintaining excellent standards of treatment and care for our service users and will oversee the implementation of treatment pathways for people affected by their use of substances. You will work with a range of partner agencies and represent the service in a variety of settings, promoting the service and encouraging referrals.
You will be responsible for the recruitment and training of peer mentors across Leicestershire & Rutland. This will be within our adult treatment service but will also include a new focus on recruiting peer mentors to support in our family and carers work.
Role Responsibility
- Knowledge, skills and experience of working with people who have experienced difficulties related to their substance use and delivering recognised psychosocial interventions/approaches.
- Excellent facilitation skills including the ability to lead a discussion to constructive conclusions and the ability to feedback
- Experience of successfully managing a wide range of stakeholder relationships
- Time management skills – working under very tight deadlines with changing priorities
- Experience in evaluation techniques and the ability to adapt practice to get results
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and engaging and have a real passion for supporting people. You must have experience of line management/supervision/coaching and a strong understanding of treatment services and service user engagement is required.
It is a busy role so excellent time management skills and experience in report writing and analysing data and records will be important.
This post is based in our Friar Lane office in Leicester City however you will be required to travel to community sites so access to a car and a driving licence would be beneficial.
