Interim Tier 4 Services Operations Manager (North West) – Substance Misuse

We are currently recruiting for an Interim Tier 4 Services Operations Manager to oversee our Smithfield Detox Unit in Manchester and two residential rehabs (Oldham and Cumbria).

Role Responsibility

  • Oversee and line manage the registered managers at three CQC registered services
  • Lead and work with the inpatient detoxification service in Manchester to oversee and plan for a large building refurbishment project
  • Support the business development function relating to all three services including demand, capacity and framework development & management
  • Be externally focussed and contribute to the development of key stakeholder relationships to ensure effective integration with other local services, ensuring there is an ongoing pipeline of clients for the services
  • Conduct a review of processes and systems that support the delivery of Tier 4 Services, putting forward clear recommendations for actionable changes.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Requirements:

  • At least five years’ experience in substance misuse or supported accommodation at a management level
  • Experience of delivering drug, alcohol or mental health services across a range of settings, or previous experience of managing Tier 4 drug and alcohol services.
  • Degree level education, or equivalent, and evidence of post graduate training
  • Experience of change management and process improvement
  • Experience of improving service performance and maintaining that performance within a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in the pursuit of exceptional delivery of service outcomes to a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Relationship building with senior key stakeholders to be able to maximise outcomes.
  • Innovation including across social care categories such as substance misuse, mental health or residential settings.
  • Politically astute with an ability to establish positive organisational reputation with key stakeholders. Operating across strategic levels.
  • Flexible and adaptable leadership style and approach in order to achieve outcomes whilst maintain employee engagement.
