Insight Performance and Data Officer

Job Introduction

We are looking for someone to take on the role of Insight Performance & Data Officer working within our Rough Sleeping Project at our Hereford Recovery Service. The new post holder will be required to provide data and performance support to this team. 

You will play a key role in a service that brings together substance use treatment, housing, outreach, GP and mental health services to respond to the needs of the community in challenging circumstances. 

As an Insight Performance & Data Officer we offer a starting salary of £24,150 rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to £28,252 per year (pro-Rata).

The successful candidate will be expected to work from Turning Point offices based in Hereford, West Midlands (HR1 & HR4). Hybrid working available for the right candidate but there is an expectation of presence in office 3 days a week. Please only apply if you can commute to Hereford.

Role Responsibility

You will be working in close partnership with service staff, managers, commissioners and other key stakeholders. Reporting to the Insight Performance & Data Manager your responsibilities will include: 

  • Reporting local activity data across services including Herefordshire Recovery Service and the Rough Sleepers Project 
  • Monitoring, analysis and reporting, including data submissions to government department
  • Supporting the standards for consistent performance reporting across the service 
  • Maintenance and data entry of client management systems 
  • Monitoring local data quality and compliance in line with national data set requirements, remaining up to date with newly published data and guidance
  • Supporting the development of the service staff team in understanding of performance, data and recording on our client information system.
  • Recognising and understanding local processes and providing effective system support to staff
  • Supporting Insight Performance & Data Manager with Performance Management meetings, agreeing priority areas of focus and development of action plans.

The Ideal Candidate

If you are an experienced data professional, administrator with great Excel skills or a recent IT education leaver looking for a position that suits your skillset, we want to hear from you.   

You will be data driven with an eye for detail. You will also have excellent communication skills and will be capable of building good working relationships with colleagues, service providers, commissioners and other stakeholders. 

Skills you will need: 

  • IT Skills - Advanced Microsoft Applications (Excel), Utilisation of existing visualisations. Experience with volume data sets (adept using formulas/functions including VLOOKUPs/PIVOTs/CONCATENATE/SUM use of filters etc)
  • Data standards knowledge, such as GDPR & other regulation
  • Experience of client case management systems and improving data quality. 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent IT skills including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Calendars, and other digital media  
  • Strong organisational skills, with an ability to remain calm and resilient in high pressure environments.
  • ​Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) with ability to adapt response to varied audiences including presenting data in simple and accessible formats. ​
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team 
  • A successful track record of delivering data/systems training to groups & individuals is advantageous  
  • Experience in a similar health and social care environment or a desire to work within a service that supports the needs of the community
