Hepatitis C Support Worker - LLR

Job Introduction

Fixed Term Contract - Up to 12 Months

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Turning Point’s CQC Outstanding rated Substance Misuse Services across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland as a Hepatitis C support worker.

Role Responsibility

In addition to providing blood borne virus screening, your role will entail providing positive engagement and harm reduction interventions, including assertive outreach to support service users to refer, access and complete blood borne virus screening and treatment for Hepatitis C. You will support the delivery of well-liver clinic across the service at various sites based in the City, County and Rutland. Therefore the ability to travel is essential.

You will contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings with the Recovery Workers within the service to support positive engagement and treatment planning in relation to Hepatitis C testing and treatment. The role will entail liaising with service user groups to drive prevention and promoting Hepatitis treatment, supporting peer and service user involvement to deliver health education and health protection relating to Hepatitis C. Contributing to effective clinical governance systems, including supporting accurate data collection and service audit completion will be a key role responsibility. You will be expected to build positive working alliances through multi-agency and partnership working to support a harm reduction approach, promoting prevention, early intervention, testing and treatment for Hepatitis C.

The Ideal Candidate

Ideally with lived experience of completing Hepatitis C treatment and experience of supporting people who are affected by substance misuse. Working as a Hepatitis C support link worker within a multi-disciplinary team to support the successful delivery of Turning Point’s Hepatitis C strategy within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
