Job Introduction
Support and Advice on Sexual Health – SASH, in Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea is provided by Turning Point in partnership with sexual health specialist services METRO, London Friend, NAZ and Marie Stopes.
SASH service provides information, advice, referral to sexual health testing and 1:1/ group support for individuals affected by sexual health related issues. The service has dedicated support available for young people (15+), LGBT residents, Black and Asian Minority Ethnic groups, women and young girls, people affected by domestic abuse, residents newly diagnosed with HIV, sex workers and residents with learning disabilities. SASH operates within Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea borough and Hammersmith and Fulham and supports its clients to improve their well-being and access other services through signposting and referral.
Role Responsibility
SASH requires a health and wellbeing coach to work within our behaviour change step care model. The health and wellbeing coach will support service users to achieve sexual health and wider health gains objectives as part of their holistic and person centred care plan. Your responsibilities will be to support the individual in accessing a range of initiatives within the service and assets based within the community. You will manage a case load of complex individuals and work effectively with partners to facilitate change to improve sexual and wider health objectives.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have an excellent working knowledge around sexual health and health promotion, HIV, managing a caseload of complex individuals work to deadlines and achieve results against specific targets and goals. Also the candidate should have experience working with and supporting Clients who have a LD diagnosis or experience of supporting LD clients with behaviour issues, restricted communication such as non-verbal.
You’ll need to be computer literate, have the skills to multi-task and be able to bring a naturally positive disposition to our team. Possession of a relevant NVQ in social care is ideal as is the motivation to acquire a qualification.
