Harm Reduction Team Leader - DAWS

Job Introduction

At Turning Point we provide services across the whole country which delivers end to end drug and alcohol treatment and support, family services, housing advice and support for those in contact with the criminal justice system, needle exchange system, and custody outreach. We are a specialist in delivering whole treatment system approaches, which has led to the reduction in people falling through gaps between services and delivers improved outcomes.

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with substance misuse issues. As a Harm Reduction Team Leader, you'll make a real difference in the community and to their lives as you develop the personal, flexible and realistic support packages they need to help turn things around.

As a Harm Reduction Team Leader we offer a starting salary of £32,700 rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to £38,254 per year + £3,633 ILW. (Dependent on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial starting salary).

Role Responsibility

To lead on new projects focused on enhancing access to Harm Reduction support and services for the service users of DAWS in Central London. As the Harm Reduction Team Leader, you will be responsible for delivering excellence in all aspects of service delivery including.  Working closely with clinicians, recovery workers, service users, volunteers and managers, you will contribute to the planning of harm reduction interventions and actively respond to evolving local needs.

We will also rely on you to build and maintain strong relationships with other local stakeholders. In addition, you will stay abreast of the latest developments in the substance misuse field and use your initiative to identify and explore new opportunities within our integrated service structure. You will need experience of the substance misuse sector and in depth knowledge of the Harm Reduction as well as a proven ability to lead and develop projects. 

The Ideal Candidate

To achieve these goals, and help us deliver and develop our wider substance misuse strategy, you will need a background in the substance misuse field and knowledge. This must include a good understanding of harm reduction, psychosocial interventions and case management as well as proven ability to manage and develop a team. Add to that your personal resilience, first-class communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills and you will quickly establish yourself as an important and effective member of our team. You must be IT literate with a good understanding of data reporting systems, be able to adapt to competing priorities and be extremely organised. You will also be comfortable supporting your team whilst implementing organisational change as the service continues to adapt and grow. Working 37 hours per week, the nature of our service demands a degree of flexibility on working hours.
