Female Senior Support Worker

What will I be doing?

At Turning Point, we support people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Autism across England.

We are recruiting a Senior Support Worker for a small location in Canterbury supporting 2 adults with a diagnosis in Autism, Mental Health and learning disabilities to live in the community.

As a Senior Support Worker you will make a real difference to people’s lives. Passionate about people? you will enjoy the scope of this role in line management duties alongside supporting people whilst enhancing your own life and career too, as you gain the experience and training you need to progress with us.

Role Responsibility

The role of the Senior Support Worker is to support the management team in the supervision of the Support Worker team in their day to day role, ensuring that new staff are inducted to their roles and operating as fully competent employees. Inspiring and leading a team to providing high quality support and outcomes.

Taking the responsibility as the senior person on duty, model their own good practice within the team to ensure a high quality service is provided.

Senior Support Worker role is a hands-on job too! You will be supporting people with a full range of daily activities to include supporting with Mental health appointments, community participation, home & tenancy management, medical needs and all daily living tasks that may be needed.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have Support Worker experience, within a Learning Disability, Autism or Mental Health setting.

You will also be:

  • Patient, Understanding & Kind.
  • Motivated to support people towards their goals.
  • Mindful of the language used when communicating with people, be non-judgemental and maintain boundaries.
  • Able to support people in difficult times and good, acting in a responsive manner to changes.
  • You will be required to work alongside specialists in multi-disciplinary teams. this may include Phycologists, probation officers, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and more.
