Deputy Payroll Manager
Job Introduction
Turning Point is recruiting a Deputy Payroll Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Role Responsibility
As Deputy Payroll manager, your duties will include ensuring accurate and timely deduction and payment of pension contributions; providing an effective payroll administration service to meet the requirements of all statutory and legislative responsibilities and contributing to the continuous improvement of our payroll and pensions processes.
We are located in the heart of Manchester and are within close proximity to transport links. We are able to accommodate blended working or a hybrid approach working remotely and in the office.
The Ideal Candidate
The following experience is essential:
- Experience of leading a team in delivering a customer focussed payroll service
- Experience of starters, leavers and year-end administration processing including P11D and PSA.
- Experience in dealing with both contractual and statutory requirements relating to sickness, maternity, annual leave and other absence schemes
- Experience of processing complex monthly payrolls with a large volume of employees.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications to an intermediate standard
- Experience of a salary sacrifice defined contribution pension scheme. Understanding of pension auto enrolment legislation and NHS and Local Government Pension Schemes.
- Ability to undertake manual calculations (including tax, NIC and pension deductions) in line with legislation
- A practical understanding of confidentiality and data protection legislation.
- A good knowledge of payroll and pensions legislation coupled with the ability to respond to and apply mandated changes.
- Experience of delivering a customer focused in-house payroll service.
- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills.
- Whilst knowledge of TUPE and pensions would be beneficial, it isn't essential.
