Deputy Operations Manager - HMP Thameside

Turning Point have been providing drug and alcohol services to adults in HMP Thameside since it opened in March 2012. This is a well established contract with strong partnerships and commercial relationships in place. Robust systems are in place to ensure contract demands are met (ALL KPIs have been achieved since contract commencement). The Prison population is 1235 Adult Male Category B London Local.
Role Responsibility
You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operational delivery of the service working alongside our Healthcare Partner Oxleas NHS Trust supporting a range of clinical and psychosocial interventions.
Your focus will be on ensuring the delivery of a consistently high quality service through ensuring the safe and effective running of the services throughout the Prison to service users. You will ensure HMPPS standards are met and improvement is identified, planning and managing effective change.
- Support & deputise for the Operations Manager to provide leadership to the multi-disciplinary team in line with Turning Point’s vision and core values.
- Work closely with key stakeholders and local healthcare professionals to oversee the provision of IDTS within the Prison and linking effectively with all identified community treatment agencies to ensure risk where possible is mitigated.
- Manage Team Managers and undertake HR related duties including supervisions, appraisals, recruitment and selection and support and empower Team Managers to manage HR related queries.
- Work closely with HMP Thameside multi-disciplinary management team to ensure performance targets are met.
The Ideal Candidate
- You will be resilient, working for an Operations Manager that will demand and expect the highest level of standards/ achievement/ communication
- You will have an MOJ background
- You will know the criminal justice pathways into and out of the Prison estate
- You will have a working knowledge of IDTS in the secure estate and an understanding of the core standards required by NHSE / PHE
- You will have a working knowledge of the law in relation to safeguarding, homelessness and vulnerable adults
- Proven track record of managing clinical and psychosocial services for people with substance misuse issues
- Previous experience of managing managers
- Previous experience of managing all aspects of a service contract
- Experience of managing multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills and partnership working
- The legal right to work in the UK
