At Turning Point, we believe data has the power to change lives.
As one of England's leading health and social care organisations, we support thousands of people every day to overcome complex challenges and achieve positive outcomes. Behind every service we deliver is data that helps us understand needs, improve performance and make better decisions.
We're looking for a talented Data Engineer / BI Developer to join our growing Data & Analytics team and play a key role in shaping the future of data across Turning Point.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working across the full data lifecycle—from building robust data pipelines and modern data models to creating impactful dashboards and delivering meaningful insight. You'll help drive our data transformation journey as we continue to invest in cloud technologies and modern analytics platforms, including Microsoft Fabric.
If you're passionate about turning complex data into actionable intelligence and want your work to make a genuine difference to people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
The Role

You'll have the opportunity to:
- Design and develop data pipelines that bring together information from multiple sources.
- Create and optimise databases, data models and reporting solutions that provide meaningful business insight.
- Build engaging Tableau and Power BI dashboards that help stakeholders understand performance and identify opportunities.
- Partner with teams across the organisation to understand business challenges and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Help improve data quality, reporting standards and analytics best practice.
- Contribute to the development of our cloud-based data platform and future analytics capabilities.
- Support data governance, security and compliance requirements, ensuring data is trusted and well managed.
About You
We're looking for a curious and collaborative data professional who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
You'll bring:
- Strong experience with SQL Server, T-SQL and database design.
- Experience developing ETL/ELT solutions using tools such as SSIS.
- Expertise in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
- A solid understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience building effective relationships with stakeholders and translating business needs into practical solutions.
It would be great if you also have:
- Power BI dashboard and semantic model development experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure or other cloud-based data platforms.
- Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and real-time data solutions.
- Python or other scripting experience for data processing and automation.
- Understanding of data governance, GDPR and information security principles.
- Experience working in agile, regulated or complex environments.
