Passionate about people, you'll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life and career too, as you gain the experience, training and education you need to progress in your career with us.

Leicestershire and Rutland crisis service was established in 2015 to work with people experiencing a mental health crisis who may otherwise need an admission to hospital. We aim to assist service users to overcome their crisis in variety of ways including one to one and group support, practical strategies to cope with symptoms, and advice and information to improve the person’s ability to live independently. We provide support in a number of ways including a six-bed crisis house; outreach / crisis café provision in various locations across locality and working alongside Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust to deliver the Mental Health Central Access Point

You will work as a key member of the team in developing and delivering the wellbeing aspect of the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Crisis House Service.

It is a part-time role – 16hrs per week.

Role Responsibility

The main purpose of the role is to develop and deliver wellbeing support to the staff team in a structured manner for them to carry out their day-to-day role effectively.

This will include:

  • To provide information, advice, and guidance to staff regarding issues related to wellbeing, wellness, and mental health
  • To facilitate individual, group and drop-in sessions for staff, which would promote their wellbeing
  • To lead the de-brief sessions following incidents in either the Crisis house or Mental Health Central Access Point
  • To carry out exercises and tasks that could promote staff wellbeing

This list is not exhaustive, and the role will include the development of local wellbeing initiatives, liaising with other organisations and stakeholders to promote and publicise the wellbeing offer in the locality.

The role will require you to offer support face to face and remotely by telephone or online.

The Ideal Candidate

You will work as part of a team within the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Crisis Service.

You will need excellent interpersonal communication skills. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding and empathy, providing advice and emotional support to individuals. You will have the ability to deal effectively and calmly with challenging situations.

Ideally, you will hold a relevant qualification appropriate for this role such as a Counselling qualification; however, you must have a demonstrable belief in a values-led approach to working with service users with a Mental Health issue.

Clinical supervision will be provided to the successful applicant.
