Commercial Finance Analyst

Turning Point is now recruiting a Commercial Finance Analyst based in Manchester City centre.

Role Responsibility

As a Commercial Finance Analyst you will support the business unit reporting on financial performance and partnering Budget Holders. The role reports into the Finance Business Partner.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing support and challenging Budget Holders during annual Budget setting and high-level monthly forecasting
  • Accurate and timely production of Budgets and respective reporting to senior management
  • Analysing Contract and Business Unit performance and identifying any remedial actions and reporting accordingly
  • Financial modelling of new services and assessing the viability of new tender opportunities
  • Supporting the Finance Business Partner in agreeing robust and supportable assumptions that feed into the business strategy
  • Accurate and timely production of the monthly management accounts and reporting, including variance analysis and monitoring Key Performance Indicators
  • Presenting monthly performance to the operational managers and Budget Holders
  • Investigate, resolve and escalate where appropriate, any areas of risk or opportunity within contracts
  • Provide financial information to external Commissioners and attend any face-to-face meetings if required
  • Constantly reviewing and improving internal processes and the quality of the Management Information delivered to the business

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have strong communication skills and be able to build instant rapport
  • Be willing to influence, manage and inspire multiple stakeholders in order to maintain good Contract Performance
  • Be skilled in presenting information to a range of stakeholders, ensuring their understanding
  • Have recent knowledge of working in a Management Accounts or Financial Analyst role
  • Have strong IT skills, particularly advanced MS Excel
  • Be studying towards or willing to study towards ACCA or CIMA or have equivalent experience
