Job Introduction

At Turning Point, it’s our job to empower people in their journey to independence and recovery. Through our person-centred approach to support, we are one of the country’s leading Health and Social Care providers, with a turnover of over £130m p/a.

We continue to grow, and we’ve big ambitions to stay on that upward curve. Join us as a Bid Manager for our Mental Health and Learning Disability Services, and you’ll help us do just that by working as part of our dedicated business development team.

Role Responsibility

In this business-critical role, it will be your job to make sure everything we say and do is relevant, engaging and original – ensuring that our excellent track record of service delivery is noticed by Local Authority and CCG Commissioners.

An experienced Bid Manager  or Creative Writer with a track record of leading winning bids or submitting compelling written work, you will be intrinsic to both contract retention and our success in winning new business. You will work in partnership with operational colleagues and other senior stakeholders to co-produce service models, budgets and partnerships for bids, as well as managing all aspects of the process, including quality assurance of written responses.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Bid leadership and management, from kick-off to handover to implementation;
  • Lead on service models, inform budgets and develop partnerships for bids;
  • Work with internal teams to develop and manage content;
  • Liaise with internal colleagues to monitor trends and required actions;
  • Support colleagues in their bids and provide peer review of output;
  • Help improve bid processes, sharing experience and ideas.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have effective communication skills (both oral and written); excellent critical thinking skills; great interpersonal skills; good attention to detail and an organised methodical mind.

The role is home based, or you can work either all or some of your time at our offices and operational sites in locations where these are available.  We are flexible in this respect.  If you are working from home then any location is considered.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent creative writing, bid development or proposal writing skills;
  • Experience in Health and Social Care, ideally some mental health, learning disabilities or autism experience would be useful
  • Effective bid or project coordination
  • Ability to remain calm and deliver under pressure to tight deadlines;
  • Good problems solving and critical thinking skills;
  • Effective communicator across multiple audiences

Running services on a not-for-profit basis, we invest every penny back into service delivery  – and the people we support. We’ve lots of aspiration for growth, so if you have the relevant experience as well as caring about making a difference to people’s lives come and help us to make it happen.
