Bank Support Worker - Garrow House

Job Introduction

We are looking for dedicated mental health support workers to join our established and experienced team at Garrow House, York. We provide care and therapeutic support for up to 12 women within the service who experience severe personality disorders. The role is challenging but is also very rewarding as we offer a specialist service with the aim to supporting the individuals back into the community with independent living.

We provide a comprehensive training package, which includes training on personality disorder awareness and Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT). Role Responsibility

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will make a real difference to residents' lives as you improve their daily living skills and provide therapeutic support. You will also work closely with our dedicated team members which consist of nurses, support workers, a social worker, occupational therapist, service user involvement worker, clinical psychologist, and consultant psychiatrist. A large part of your role will be to implement planned, appropriate interventions, promote independence and well-being and healthy life choices, you will also be involved in a range of activities, supporting the residents with daily living skills following recovery and activity programs that will help our residents’ to develop the important skills they need to progress through their recovery pathway.

To be successful in this role you will have great people skills and resilience to enable you to develop relationships with the people we support and to gain their confidence to enhance their journey back into the community. Passionate about people, you will enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life and career too, as you gain the experience and training you need to progress with us.

We are a 24 hour service and as such, we have the opportunity to provide flexible working patterns, ranging from part time to full time working, over 7 days a week. We have a number of shift options including days, nights, weekdays and weekends to suit you.
