Bank Support Worker - DAWS

Job Introduction

DAWS Recovery & Wellbeing service is seeking a highly organised individual with aspirations of building career within the substance misuse field.

Supporting and engaging residents across Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and the City of Westminster is a vitally important part of Turning Point’s work. By listening to their needs, creating personalised solutions and looking beyond their health requirements to wider issues, we are making a real difference to individuals and the communities they belong to. We are now looking for Bank Support Workers to support residents, their families and the community around the issues caused by substance misuse.

Role Responsibility

The challenges are substantial. For a start, you will support the staff team to develop flexible and realistic support packages and give practical advice and information to service users, their families and friends.

You will ensure the smooth operation of the daily service by dealing with the referrals of new service users, completing assessments, inductions into the service and provide them with support and knowledge they need to get the most from their treatment. This will often mean working collaboratively with social services, GPs and avast range of community partners to ensure the delivery of effective and recovery focused services. This role is a great development opportunity for those seeking to work in the substance misuse field.

The Ideal Candidate

The role calls for a general understanding of the issues that substance users face and working within integrated service community settings would be beneficial though not essential. Ideally you will be able to work in a person-centred way and have an understanding of the recovery agenda. Add to all these strengths excellent written and spoken communication skills, and you will quickly make your mark as part of our team.
