Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

Everyone’s Turning Point is unique. It’s the moment when they realise they’ve made a small, but important, step forward. Very often, that small step is the start of something bigger. But only when the right support, advice and services are in place. That’s where you come in.

Everyone’s Turning Point is unique. It’s the moment when they realise they’ve made a small, but important, step forward. Very often, that small step is the start of something bigger. But only when the right support, advice and services are in place. That’s where you come in.

Our Business-to-Business and private pay counselling and CBT service delivers a high quality, telephone or video-based service to support those requesting support.

The counselling & CBT service comes from Turning Point’s commitment to encouraging new ideas. We do this by placing individuals at the heart of the development of our support. As a leading social enterprise and backed by Turning Point’s experience over 55 years we are driven by the need to see the potential of people and empower them to make the changes needed to live life well.

Role Responsibility

We are now looking for qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) to join our fast-growing team. The successful candidate will have completed an IAPT-compliant BABCP approved course.

If you would like to work between 9-5 or work more flexible hours, such as around school drop-off or between 5 and 8pm, we can work with your needs. If you want to focus on clinical practice and maintain your registration with your preferred professional body we can help you do this. In doing so we will provide you with a wealth of support, supervision, training, learning, space to reflect and learn. You will be able to provide psychological interventions to a range of adults with common mental health difficulties. You will receive support, supervision and training from a team of highly experienced clinical supervisors as well as in-service training to support your continued learning and development (CPD).

You can work with people via our IAPT Waiting list service, both 1:1 and Group facilitation. You may also want to vary the people you offer treatment and support to, i.e. with our Employee Wellbeing provision (over 100 companies signed up), including an internal wellbeing service for Turning Point (1:1 and group). We offer emotional and psychological support to Mental Health First Aiders (1:1 and Group). We offer short-term and on-going therapy between our different services.

We are continually developing the services we provide, including offering therapy to Young People, Couples Counselling and Typed-CBT. You can be involved/trained in as many of these are you would like.

The Ideal Candidate

We also have fantastic career development opportunities within the Commercial Ventures department of Turning Point or across Turning Point more generally.

Whilst our support teams are based in Manchester, our services are provided via the telephone and therefore we expect candidates will work from home and will accept applications from candidates based anywhere in the UK. You will need a quiet and confidential place to work at home with a good broadband connection. There may be rare occasions where travel to Manchester is required for meetings and training. However, this will be done remotely where possible.
