Bank Mental Health Support Worker
Job Introduction
We are seeking bank mental health support workers to work across 3 key services in Manchester.

Pendlebury House is part of Turning Point, a leading health and social care organisation and registered charity. Located in a community setting in Swinton, Manchester, Pendlebury House is an independent hospital providing rehabilitation, treatment and care for up to 10 patients, including those detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA), who experience severe and enduring mental health needs.
Douglas House is proud to be one of only 6% highest rated mental health services in the UK and is part of Turning–Point, a leading Health and Social Care Organisation and a Registered Charity. We are located in a community setting near to Didsbury Village, Manchester with great transport links.
We care for 12 male and female service users, who experience severe and enduring mental health issues, offering therapeutic packages of mental health rehabilitation to those who are both informal and detained under the Mental Health Act.
Birchwood is located in a community setting in Lees, Oldham.
Birchwood is a CQC Registered Nursing Home and offers packages of rehabilitation to 16 adults between the ages of 18 and 65 years, who experience severe and enduring mental health needs.
Main Responsibilities
Working alongside Qualified Mental Health Nurses and the Multi-Disciplinary Team as a Support Worker, you will develop good working relationships with each of the residents, be able to recognise individual indicators of mental health and to have the skills to help the residents to develop appropriate and helpful coping strategies to further enable their recovery
A large part of your role will be to implement planned, appropriate interventions, promoting independence and well–being and healthy life choices, you will also be involved in a range of activities, supporting the residents with daily living skills following recovery and activity programs that will help our resident’s to develop the important skills they need to progress through their recovery pathway.
The ideal candidate
Heath and social care experience or qualification would be desirable although not essential. You must be an excellent communicator and possess good people skills.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of supporting people with a mental health needs.
