Bank Mental Health Support Worker - Douglas and Pendlebury House

Job Introduction

We are now looking for Bank Mental Health Support Workers to join our friendly and dedicated teams in Didsbury and Swinton.

Pendlebury and Douglas House are independent hospitals that offer packages of rehabilitation to informal and detained service users under the Mental Health Act, treatment and care to individuals who experience severe and enduring mental health needs.

We aspire to work in true partnership with our Service Users. We encourage everyone to reach their full potential, whilst working towards personal recovery goals. Ultimately our aim is to reintroduce and maintain daily living skills alongside the psychosocial interventions necessary to equip people to live more independently in the community.

Role Responsibility

Working alongside a full and varied multi-disciplinary team consisting of consultant psychiatrists, doctors, mental health nurses, art therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, support workers, project workers, and peer support workers.  You will develop therapeutic relationships with service users, and help them to develop appropriate coping strategies and skills for independent living.

The shift available include earlies, lates, nights, weekends and bank holidays. We operate a self-rostering system which means we can work around you and your commitments.

The Ideal Candidate

Health and social care experience or qualification would be desirable, but we can support you to gain further qualifications whilst in post if you are the right person for the job.

You must be an excellent communicator, be enthusiastic about giving good care and possess good people skills.
