Are you looking for a new challenge? We are looking for an experienced worker to join the team to expand our volunteer and peer mentoring service.

As an ARP – Peer Mentoring and Volunteer Service we offer a starting salary of £27,300 rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to £31,937 per year. (Dependent on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial starting salary). 

We are a countywide service and you can be based at Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich or Lowestoft.

Role Responsibility

  • To support in the delivery of peer mentor training, aftercare and recovery based community projects
  • Effective partnership working and coordinate multi-agency meetings when appropriate;
  • Offer recovery focused interventions that are underpinned by evidence and build on best practice;
  • Participate in meetings and be confident and competent at presenting training programmes and group work.
  • Coach Recovery workers and trainee recovery workers as to how to refer into and develop community based recovery projects as part of their clients aftercare provision.
  • Support the learning and development of Trainee and Recovery Workers, providing specialist input into the internal planning and pathway meetings and relevant external meetings; 
  • Provide shadowing, mentoring and coaching to staff to support their development, learning and interventions;
  • Being known as a knowledgeable in a designated specialism within the service for peer mentoring, aftercare and community based project development.
  • Ensuring achievement of key performance indicators relevant to your role;
  • Delivering internal and external learning events and representing Turning Point nationally if required in your specialist area. 
  • Create pathways and processes for engaging with external agencies to create a legacy support network for clients involved with peer mentoring and aftercare.



Role specifics:

Actively participate in peer mentoring and aftercare based multi-disciplinary team meetings and other service meetings, offering support and guidance to colleagues, to chair such meetings in absence of Team Leader. To undertake specialist audits around an area of service development collaboratively with the team leader To be a champion of lived experience and recovery both in the service and with external partners.  Allowing Trainee and Recovery Workers to shadow and observe your own practice to support their learning and development. To organise and run specialist groups and events across the county.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Requirements:

  • The ability to engage with   and motivate a caseload of peer mentors and volunteers to promote recovery and to build strong working relationships.
  • To build strong professional relationships with external agencies to develop opportunities for peer mentors to share lived experience and promote recovery.
  • Ability to manage own diary to cover whole county with an equitable service;
  • To discover services in each location who can support and build pathways and procedures to work effectively with recovery based community partners.
  • To understand trauma informed care and put it into daily practice and support others to do so.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills as well as an ability to keep timely and concise records;
  • Access to a car and a driving licence as the role is county wide and will include travel outside of public transport hours and to locations not covered by it;
  • The ability to organise, advertise and run events and training sessions.  This may involve flexibility and out-of hours working.
