As an ARP – Families and Complex Needs we offer a starting salary of £27,300 rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to £31,937 per year. (Dependent on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial starting salary). 

We are a countywide service and you can be based at Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich or Lowestoft.

Role Responsibility

  • Carry a designated caseload of families with complex needs
  • Conduct assessments of need and risk assessments and formulate risk management plans and recovery plans that recognise the personal recovery goals of the family; 
  • Effective partnership working and coordinate multi-agency meetings when appropriate;
  • Offer family focused interventions that are underpinned by evidence and build on best practice;
  • Participate in meetings and be confident and competent at presenting cases orally and through written reports;  
  • Coach Recovery workers and trainee recovery workers as to how to write and present good quality analytical reports;
  • Support the learning and development of Trainee and Recovery Workers, providing specialist input into the internal planning and pathway meetings and relevant external meetings; 
  • Provide shadowing, mentoring and coaching to staff to support their development, learning and interventions;
  • Being known as a knowledgeable in a designated specialism within the service for families with complex needs;
  • Ensuring achievement of key performance indicators relevant to your role;
  • Delivering internal and external learning events and representing Turning Point nationally if required in your specialist area. 
  • Create pathways and processes for engaging with external agencies to create a legacy support network for the family;

Role specifics:

  • Actively participate in complex families multi-disciplinary team meetings and other service meetings, offering support and guidance to colleagues, to chair such meetings in absence of Team Leader
  • To undertake specialist family audits around an area of service development collaboratively with the team leader
  • Undertaking observations of group and 1:2:1 session of colleagues and providing feedback to support practice improvement
  • Allowing Trainee and Recovery Workers to shadow and observe your own practice to support their learning and development
  • To organise and run specialist groups across the county.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Requirements:

  • The ability to engage with a complex family caseload who are affected by substance use, quickly and effectively to build a strong working relationship
  • To build strong professional friendships with external agencies to facilitate co location working and joint visitations; 
  • Ability to manage own diary to cover whole county with an equitable service;
  • To discover services in each location who can support your caseload and to build pathways and procedures to work effectively with the families needs at the centre;
  • To understand contextual safeguarding and trauma informed care and put it into daily practice and support others to do so;
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills as well as an ability to keep timely and concise records;
  • Access to a car and a driving licence as the role is county wide and will include travel outside of public transport hours and to locations not covered by it;
  • The ability to organised, advertise and run group sessions at a time that suits the families
