Administrator - HMP Thameside

Job Introduction

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with Substance Misuse issues. Your administration skills will make a real difference to the lives of people we work with. As an Administrator with the HMP Thameside substance misuse service, you will provide wide–ranging administrative support to our team, so that they can focus on delivering person–centred services that enable our service users to achieve their potential.

Based at our HMP Thameside Service you’ll support the operations team by answering calls, maintaining accurate records and helping us to continually improve our performance. Offering plenty of variety, this rewarding role will involve inputting, checking and uploading data onto the NDTMS system along with collating information for reports. There will also be opportunities for minute taking, generating and processing invoices, dealing with incoming and outgoing post, ordering supplies and petty cash.

The role is based at HMP Thameside, a Category B male prison in South London. At HMP Thameside, we provide an integrated model of psycho-social and clinical support, which is evidence based and focused on meeting complex individual needs.

The role's core hours are Monday to Friday. As the role is based within HMP Thameside, you will need to gain full clearance for working in prison (including both DBS and MOJ clearance checks).

Role Responsibility

Main responsibilities will include and not be limited to, handling data and entering into bespoke systems such as NDTMS. Maintaining spread sheets and creating reports for the Operations manager around data collected. Analysing the collected data and making comparisons over specified time periods.

Working in an office receiving / answering calls, you will be an integral part of the team keeping paperwork current to specification, filing, minute taking in meetings, send and receive confidential paperwork to partner agencies internally and externally, regularly engaging with other services supporting with queries, ordering of equipment for the office and supporting the team where needed.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a confident communicator who can prioritise a changing workload, comfortable with inputting data, with the ability to maintain confidentiality, gather management information and meet deadlines under pressure. You must be a superb organiser and a supportive team player with a keen attention to detail, impressive administration skills and a good understanding of Microsoft Office, including Excel spread sheets.
