We're always looking for volunteers from all kinds of backgrounds and with all sorts of experience. You may want to learn new skills or you might think you already have the experience to help people turn their lives around. Whatever your background or understanding, volunteering with Turning Point will help you to develop key skills, meet new people and will give you a great insight into what it is like to work in the health and social care sector.
Volunteers perform a number of different roles at Turning Point, all of which are a huge help to both staff and service users. Whether you are helping an individual in one of our learning disability services go to the shops, acting as a mentor for someone in a young people’s service or supporting our staff during a local community event – your role as a volunteer is always important to Turning Point and the people we support.
Volunteers are extended the right to be given meaningful assignments, treated as equal co-workers, full involvement and recognition for work completed. In return, our volunteers agree to actively perform their duties to the best of their abilities and to remain loyal to the values, goals and procedures of Turning Point.
By listening to, spending time with and talking to the people we support you can make a real difference to people’s lives and can ultimately help us to turn more lives around.
Don't worry if you're unsure right now of what you need to do. We'll give you an induction to Turning Point when you join, and explain everything that your role will involve and give you guidance throughout.
