Turning Point is committed to ensuring a fair selection process for all candidates and has secured the Two Ticks accreditation for the Disability Symbol. We therefore offer guaranteed interviews to all disabled people who meet the minimum selection criteria for any vacancy. In order to identify disabled people we ask candidates to advise us of their disability on the application form and to outline any special arrangements we need to make at interview. This information is only used to support our positive approach towards disability. Should you require any further information in relation to the Disability Symbol please contact a member of the recruitment team on 08448 80 70 67.
To be permitted to use the Two Ticks symbol, we have agreed to deliver on 5 main commitments.
To interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and consider them on their abilities.
Commitment 2To ensure there is a mechanism in place to discuss, at any time, but at least once a year, with disabled employees what they can do to make sure they can develop and use their abilities.
Commitment 3To make every effort when employees become disabled to make sure they stay in employment.
Commitment 4To take action to ensure that all employees develop the appropriate level of disability awareness needed to make these commitments work.
Commitment 5Each year, to review the five commitments and what has been achieved, to plan ways to improve on them and let employees and Jobcentre Plus know about progress and future plans.
The Turning Point recruitment team, based at The Exchange in Manchester, is keen to further develop a partnership approach with other external organisations which will enable faster and more effective access within the hard to reach and diverse sections of the community.
